Optical observations and a re-evaluation of earlier X-ray data have shown that this object has a number of unusual features. We propose detailed observations of RX J1940.2-1025 with ASCA in order to: (i) understand the origin of the prominent dip, i.e., absoprtion due to the accretion column or the eclipse by the secondary; (ii) understand the accretion geometry of RX J1940.2-1025 through phase-resolved spectroscopy; (iii) perform the first detailed study of the hard X-ray component.
