A previous ASCA observation of 4U1822-37 shows a narrow iron K line at 6.4 keV and a warm iron absorption edge at 7.2 keV. There is also evidence for a Compton broadened iron K line centered on 6 keV, but this feature is very dependant on the assumed continuum model, which is poorly determined. The simultaneous XTE measurement is crucial to determine the overall spectral shape.
