Although the ($\sim 20$) positive associations do uphold the scenario, one is left wondering as to why there are so few. An indirect but effective means of inferring pulsars inside remnants is by observations of their wind nebulae (plerions). However Galactic studies of SNR indicate a clear deficit of plerions. This could be an artifact of the numerous selection effects working against the discovery of these objects and we exemplify this point with our recent ASCA SNR observations.......
