The primary goal of this observation is to detect both a hard (~ 3 keV) and a soft (~ 0.2 keV) thermal component seen in the spectra of several X-ray faint galaxies with ROSAT which is believed to be typical of ellipticals and S0s with low X-ray to optical luminosities. Using the combined bandpass of the SIS and GIS, we will place strict limits on the temperature of the two components as well as the ratio of the fluxes from the two components. We will also attempt to demonstrate that a single thermal component model with low metal abundance (a model not ruled out by ROSAT) will not adequately fit the spectra of the two galaxies.
