SUMMARY OF PROPOSAL 42155 DR. We propose to follow up a GINGA dectection of iron K emission in the furthest quasar yet, PKS 0637-752 (z=0.66). ASCA will measure the line energy and equivalent width and determine whether the line is broadened by Doppler and/or gravitational effects. Comparison with closer, lower luminosity AGN is expected to significntly contribuite to our understanding of the nature and structure of matter in the innermost regions of AGN.
