The extended emission coincides with a grouping of bright galaxies apparent on the POSS plates. Limited spectral information has been extracted from the ROSAT PSPC data. The ROSAT HRI and optical data (both of which are currently being analysed) will allow us to untangle the diffuse and discrete emission components in addition to determining the space distribution of the emitting sources. The ASCA observation is a necessary compliment to the existing dataset as it will represent a vast improvement to the available spectral data and elucidate the 0.5-8 keV behaviour of this enigmatic patch of emission.
