XRSSIM: XRS Event Simulator

Xrssim is an XRS event simulator, which can produce simulated XRS event lists similar to the actual XRS data. Xrssim and related tools are available for Linux, Solaris, OSF, and Mac OS X machines.

There are two cases when xrssim simulation if useful: (1) Simulation of diffuse sources to determin the number of counts expected on each pixel, (2) Simulation of bright point sources to see the fractions of Hi-res, Mid-res, and Low-res events. The following series of pages explain how to carry out XRS simulations using xrssim for these two cases.
