Notes for reducing XIS0 data with area discrimination after 2015-04-17.

2015-04-24 by the XIS team
2015-09-02 by the XIS team

After the XIS0 anomaly in June 2009, we observed a severe charge leakage in a part of the segment A of the XIS0. To mask the damaged area, we applied an area discrimination (AD) for all data starting from June 27, 2009 16:27 (UT), which was expanded further on Oct 2, 2014 12:38 (UT).
The expansion of the dead area continued and a large fraction of the telemetry was filled with leaked charge data. We thus decided to discard all the XIS0 segment A except for a small region to keep monitoring the segment starting at 2015-04-17 07:26 (UT). The remaining region is inside a rectangle of ACTX=230-255 and ACTY=124-1023. The new discriminated area is shown in the XIS quick reference. The saturated telemetry data can be removed following this recipe (the script used in the recipe is available here.). Other remarks are the same with the previous note.
